Jill Hartman Psychotherapy
“Accepting oneself does not preclude an attempt to become better.”
― Flannery O'Connor
Welcome
Jill Hartman
When day-to-day life feels overwhelming enough, finding meaning, connection, and authenticity can feel elusive. Layer on the struggles inherent in our current world—family trauma, life transitions, managing relationships—you name it, and it’s no wonder handling it all can feel impossible.
-
In my work, I help people navigate the stressful, murky waters of life, and the anxiety and feelings of inertia that can come with the territory. Helping people connect with, and stay true to their authentic selves is what makes my work meaningful. In session, I am empathetic and compassionate, while not shying away from being direct. I am an observer, a questioner and an active listener.
I use a relational, collaborative and integrative approach to working with clients—rooted in my belief that the therapeutic relationship is co-created by both client and therapist and that no one path is right for everyone. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Attachment Theory, and I also draw on other approaches as needed—including Narrative, Solution-Focused, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute and have additional training in EFT and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Family difficulties don’t always end when we become adults. Adult family therapy sessions are geared toward helping you and family members (parent(s), sibling(s), adult children) repair and/or create healthy adult relationships.
Fees and Insurance
Session fees are $210 per session for individuals and $230 per session for couples or other adult pairs.
While I am not currently on any insurance panels, many insurance providers offer reimbursement for mental health services. I am happy to provide the requisite paperwork for this reimbursement.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale opportunities for clients for whom session cost is a financial burden.
